Smashed iphone

Okay so my iphone got dropped from a pocket of a t shirt and landed just right to smash the screen. The iphone will not turn on, so that means the lcd is bad, and if i try to switch the silent button on and off it does not make it vibrate, what is my best option, the phone is less than 30 days old. i heard u can exchange them for a refurbished iphone at a store or send it to apple and they will fix it.
