how do you do this? can you be more specific? I had a bunch of networked printers and I don't want to have to add them all again (they were all added with IP addresses that I would have to look up again)
Try restoring the org.cups.printers.plist in your HD/Library/Preferences/ folder. I imagine you will have to restart to get it to re-read the list, but not sure. Also, I'm not sure if that is the only file that is required.
There are also preferences for each user which I believe are rewritten after a reset, starting with com.apple.print.... The user Printers folder may need to be replaced as well. There may be hidden files as well.
