YouTube videos too big?

Hi there. For some reason, when I play youtube videos via my AppleTV, they are too large for my TV screen and they are cut off on all four sides by about an inch or so. The screen should be big enough, as everything else from the AppleTV, from the menus to tv shows and movies work fine; not to mention regular TV, TiVo and DVDs.

I haven't had a chance to try it with a wide variety of youtube clips. The ones in particular (in case there's something about them on youtube) I am trying to watch are by misterorange and are called The Magic Show. But I tried a couple of other random clips and they seemed to have the same problem. I'm guessing it's something to do with some resolution on youtube not quite synching with the resolution of the AppleTV, but I'd really really like to be able to fix it.

Thanks!
Peter

sounds like this is simply your TV is over scanning (as they all do). you probably never noticed it before as most content is produced to respect the "safe zone" and not go into the overscan area.

most TVs have a setting where you can disable to overscan (some TVs called it "just scan" others call it "1:1 pixel mapping".

it won't be the appletv doing this though, the appletv just send the video content to the TV and it's the TV that messes about with it.
