Apple iPod Touch 32 GB - warranty and using in Europe

I'll like to buy to USA in the next fews days some Apple iPod Touch 32 GB for present to my friend in Switzerland.
My first question is to be sure that they can use normally (including wifi) the
Apple iPod Touch 32 GB in Switzerland?
My last question . As it's a gift I don't want to give the invoice to my friends and I would like to be sure that the Apple iPod Touch 32 GB will have a warranty in Switzerland.
Thanks in advance for your comments
Regards

Sorry, Ingo, but that's incorrect. The warranty on an iPod touch is worldwide. It's only the iPhone that is limited in warranty coverage to its country of sale.

I do agree, though, that it would be better to just buy the iPod in Switzerland. After paying US sales taxes and probable Swiss import duties, the pricing would be pretty close.

I admit I passed the wrong info, sorry.
But this excerpt is mentioned in the "One year limited warranty":
THIS WARRANTY GIVES YOU SPECIFIC LEGAL RIGHTS,
AND YOU MAY ALSO HAVE OTHER RIGHTS THAT VARY BY COUNTRY, STATE OR
PROVINCE. THIS LIMITED WARRANTY IS GOVERNED BY AND CONSTRUED UNDER
THE LAWS OF THE COUNTRY IN WHICH THE PRODUCT PURCHASE TOOK PLACE.
APPLE, THE WARRANTOR UNDER THIS LIMITED WARRANTY, IS IDENTIFIED AT THE
END OF THIS DOCUMENT ACCORDING TO THE COUNTRY OR REGION IN WHICH THE
PRODUCT PURCHASE TOOK PLACE.

To me this could mean, that warranty rights you have in your country may not be the same the USA and can be handled in a unexpected way compared to your home country.
Anyway, thanks for the hint concerning the difference between ipod and iphone warranty.

Warranty rights may differ, usually in terms of recourse you have under the law when a problem cannot be resolved (some countries, for instance, have a "lemon law" that mandates a replacement or refund if after x number of attempts the manufacturer is unable to fix a given problem). But coverage itself is, as I said, worldwide for any iPod and will (unless there's some strange law somewhere in the world) not be less that what is stated in Apple's warranty document but may be greater.
