Changing default printer in Pages

When I first began printing in Pages, I was using a Canon printer. Now most of my printing is done at work on an HP Laserjet. Yet EVERY time I try to print, the printer Pages chooses is the OLD one and I have to manually change the choice of printer. If I am in a hurry and try to print a document and don't stop and change the printer (every time!) then Pages sends the document off to an old printer that is not even connected to my machine.

(1) Why doesn't Pages use the last printer used, like most other applications?

(2) How can I change this "default" setting? (I've looked everywhere ... in Preferences, Page Setup in the Inspector, etc., etc.

Sorry, this doesn't work. Pages ignores this.

So, it appears that I am a very lucky guy.
On my machine the printer setting is kept.

Apple, why is this still a problem? Very frustrating...especially when I'm hurrying and forget that my default printer is being ignored. And what about when I dump that printer for a new one? Uggh.

If the problem is linked to a deeply buried piece of code, it may require the new major version to solve it.

You Ctrl + click (Right + click) on the Pages file in the Finder > choose Services in the popup menu > Remove sticky Pages printer

It seems that you didn't read carefully.

The posted tool is dedicated to Pages 4.0.4, not to Pages 3.0.x

Yvan, are these lasts post about Apple Magics Remove Pages sticky printer.Service or is it about the earlier script?
The service work fine on Snow leopard and Pages08

That's right. When I installed it, I only saw the installer running. Nothing about Automator. If it was opend, then only in the background where one wouldn't see it.
