Is there a shortcut to maximize a finder window (green button)?

Hi,

Was wondering if there is a keyboard shortcut for this.
I dont just want the window to extend to the content but to actually go fullscreen.

If such a shortcut doesnt exist, is it somehow possible to make one by myself?

in most applications if you go to window menu there is a "Zoom" menu item that will do this. you can bind a keyboard shortcut to it in system preferences->keyboard&mouse->keyboard shortcuts. make a custom shortcut for all applications to the menu item Zoom.

The problem with the "zoom" function is that it doesnt go full screen.
It zooms to the content but I'm looking for a function that can make a finder window go full screen.

Back in the day I am sure the Apple windows in Finder responded in a user-friendly and intuitive manner. If only we could have the green button "+option" to go full-screen, that would be helpful. Also having to resize widows ONLY by the bottom right handle is inconvenient, being able to resize from any edge was more useful. But hey, I still love my Mac.
