Extend Zyxel wireless with Airport Express

Hi,

I have an airport Express and am trying to make it work with my ZyXEL P-660HN ADSL wifi router.
I am trying to make it work from my wired windowx XP SP3 PC.
The Airport utility doesn't find it. I can put the IP address of the Airport Express and configure it this way.
Then iTunes detects it and it works for 5 minutes and then disconnect itself.

Any ideas ???

Hello drum_r. Welcome to the Apple Discussions!

Is your AirPort Express Base Station (AX) the 802.11b/g or 802.11n model? If it is the older model, you will not be able to configure it as an Ethernet bridge with the ZyXEL router. However, it is a newer 802.11n, it may be possible to configure it as such. Apple calls these feature - ProxySTA.

To activate ProxySTA, you must set up the Express to join a wireless network and then enable the Allow Ethernet Clients setting; both settings are located in the Wireless tab of AirPort Utility. The feature should work with any wireless network: a, b, g, or n; and 5GHz or 2.4GHz. (Note that the Express, which ships with firmware 7.3, must also be updated to firmware 7.3.1 for this feature to appear.)

Hi!

I've just bought the new ZyXEL 660hHN from Sunrise...my aiport express used to work really well for 2 years with the old model (ZyXEL 660HW) and since I installed the new one I can't get my airport express to work, I've tried dozens of solutions suggested in forums but nothing's been working so far...I can't use my airport express to listen to music any longer (airtunes). Really annoying!

I'm starting to wonder if there's actually an issue with the ZyXEL 660HN ?

Any clue? Any hint?

Thanks
