update rsync?

Does anyone knows how to update rsync on Snow Leopard server?
The latest version of rsync is 3.0.7 is should be faster than 2.6

MB Pro, MacMini, AppleTV, iPhone, iMac, Mac OS X (10.5.1)

Download recent version on rsync.samba.org and compile it with Terminal:

tar -xzvf rsync-3.0.7.tar.gz
rm rsync-3.0.7.tar.gz
cd rsync-3.0.7
./prepare-source
./configure
make
sudo make install

Check your installation:
/usr/local/bin/rsync --version

have fun!

You should probably consider getting some OS X specific patches also.

Grab the patch set here:
curl -O http://rsync.samba.org/ftp/rsync/rsync-patches-3.0.7.tar.gz

Unpack it with this
tar -xzvf rsync-patches-3.0.7.tar.gz 

Then apply the patches:

patch -p1 <patches/fileflags.diff 
patch -p1 <patches/crtimes.diff

This is the file flags and creation times patches.
