Make sure StylusRMX.component is in either:

/Library/Audio/Plug-ins/Components/
or
/Users/ you/Library/Audio/Plug-ins/Components/

Delete the audiounit cache file:
/Users/ you/Library/Caches/com.apple.audiounits.cache

Reboot, and try again.

Presumably you have a recent version of RMX - which version do you have? (It should be 1.6 or greater, current version is 1.9.x)

I have 1.5.1, just bought it from guitar center yesterday. Guess I should have asked if they had the most recent. Should I attempt to go to sprectrsonics and download a later version? I don't even have this authorized yet because I couldn't bring up the stylus screen that initiates the authorization. I will go over the directories you named to see what's happening there. Thanks.

Then that's why it doesn't work, as it's probably not a Universal Binary.

You need to register at Spectrasonics.net and download an up to date version ( always do this when you buy software, check if there's a more recent version first.)

You don't need to authorise, you just need to register your account and serial number, and that will give you the update. Run the update installer (actually, there will be a couple of installers to do as you need to download the library updates as well), then it should show up in Logic and let you authorise, and then use it.
