Text and formula in the same cell

Hello everybody:

I was wondering if it is possible to put text and the results of a formula in the same cell. Something so a cell could look like this:

Total amount of lemmings: "=sum(cell whatever to whetever)"

p.s. no lemmings have been hurt while writing this post 😉

Not exactly.

SUM requires a list of cells references or a range of cells.

So, if you want to sum cells of a column, you may name de column "cells to sum in cell xx"
and insert in cell xx the formula :
=SUM(cells to sum in cell xx)

Reading carefully *Numbers User Guide* and *iWork Formulas and Functions User Guide* would not hurt lemmings 😉
