Aperture 3 not available in media browser

I downloaded the trial version of Aperture 3 and bought a downloaded license to upgrade my Aperture 2 installation. However, Aperture no longer appears in the media browser in any application (and not just the images, Aperture isn't even an option, just iPhoto is there). I read online about iLife Support 9.0.4, but it doesn't appear for me in software update, and it isn't listed in the Apple Support Download page or on the iLife support page.

Does anyone have any idea how I can get Aperture back into the media browser?

Thanks

Hi,

I've tried repairing permissions, new library and the various work arounds with no success. The new library worked but as soon as I switched to the original one, aperture disappeared from the media browser. So apart from standing on my head I've reached a dead end, as the update has not resolved anything.

So if anyone can suggest anything else please put me out of my misery.

Cheers.

Standing on ones head has done the trick!

When transferring my Iphoto library one event did not fully transfer. It is not until now that I've had a chance to investigate and resolve. I have now done this having found a corrupt photo. As soon as I deleted this, yes you've guessed it aperture has appeared in the browser and has stayed there.

Repairing permissions did not work.

Turning Faces off did not work.

This DID work:

I created a new library by selecting >file, >>switch to library, >>>other, selected New Library. Then Quit Aperture (have to do this because it did not take until I quit). Restarted Aperture and switched back to my normal library.

Access to my Aperture library in the Media Browser came back right away. Desktop Background also returned. I had to restart the Mac to get the Screen Saver to come back.
