Looks like no one’s replied in a while. To start the conversation again, simply ask a new question.

iPhone/iPod Proxy Authentication DOES NOT work.

Safari works on my iPod, however most other apps do not work when connected to the University Wifi (which requires an HTTP proxy to connect to the internet). None of the ports used by the proxy are blocked, as all traffic works through Safari, and everything on my Laptop works fine through it (funny how PCs 'just work'!).

Thanks Apple, another quality product!!!!

I guess I have no use for this thing now, so I can take it back to the store!

This is my exact problem.

And you would think a work around would be to create an Ad-Hoc network that doesn't need proxy authentication on your pc, that has your shared internet connection. And then connect to this with your iPod/iPhone.
However, I cannot get the iPod to use the internet after I've done this..

Quite frustrating actually.

Does Apple know about this little gem of a bug?
