Apply a preset to all images in a project?

I think the answer is YES!

If you select all of your images whilst in Browser View and then apply the auto enhance feature you should find it works on them all and they will be badged accordingly.

Unfortunately not.
By selecting all images in "Browser" view, you will get all images highlighted, but only one is editable.

Any other ideas? I need to find a solution to this as well.

It's yet another bug I'm afraid - sigh. If you do it under the photo's menu it works for all images, do it via the context menu and it doesn't.

Don't think it is a bug -

Lot's of things work this way - menu affects all images selected - huds/context menus affect primary selection only.

Maybe it is a bug but it is consistent with adjustments among other things.

It does indeed work when using menu "Photos" but not under "short-cut".
I would agree with you that it "feels" like a bug.

No, that's not right.

For example in the finder if I select multiple images I can delete all selected images by using a keystroke, the context menu or the main menu. As with all other mac programs I can think of.

I was referring to within Aperture not the finder.

Yes but if the AP UI is not consistent with other Apple applications then Apple are ignoring their own design guidelines. Right?

What works for a multiple selection in the finder should work exactly the same way in all applications, including Aperture. iPhoto works the way one would expect with multiple selections so why not Aperture?

can you apply to one, then lift and stamp to the rest via select all?

maybe a longer way to do it by adding one more step, but it should work...no?

Aperture is not departing from design standards, you just have to understand how it's functioning. The menu items are meant to apply globally to any selection, whereas the contextual menus and huds apply to single photos. Generally, this allow multiple selections in the browser to remain while changes can be applied individually. The same function is activated by the "Primary Only" button. This behavior has nothing to do with the Finder, and iPhoto is kept much simpler for ease of use by non pros.

Heads-up Everyone !

I just took a couple of my projects and applied "Photos" -> add adjustment presets --> Quick Fixes ---> Auto Enhance.

It killed half the picture by over saturating or over exposing them.
Terrible results. Especially if the corrections need where heavy.

But, doing the same pic, manually, a very different result.
Could anyone please verify this as well.

You are confusing HUD/Inspector control behaviour with Menu command behaviour.

I am able to replicate your result; 'Auto Enhance' is definitely applied differently to an individual picture than to multiple pictures.

If I select several pictures and choose 'Photos > Add Adjustment Presets > Quick Fixes > Auto Enhance', many of the pictures have clearly-inappropriate Levels settings applied. If I go to one of those pictures and choose 'Reset All Adjustments' in the Adjustments tab, then re-apply the Auto-Enhance (either from the Adjustments tab or from the menu) to just that picture, the Level settings are appropriate to the picture.

Interestingly: if I go to a picture that looks wrong, choose 'Reset All Adjustments' in the Adjustments tab, then undo that reset (via command-Z), different levels settings are applied than the ones I had initially!

I can confirm the same results... Auto Enhance on a batch of photos delivers very uneven results, while individually auto enhancing each photo does what it's supposed to. And if you undo, and do it all again, the same thing will happen -- though different photos will be screwed up than before.

Clearly another bug. Sigh.
