White line appearing on iPhone camera screen

I have a 6 week old iPhone and the camera has been working fine until this weekend. When I launch the camera from the homepage, a vertical white line appears on the screen, about one third of the way across. When I take a photo, the white line appears on the photo. When I close the camera function the line disappears. Can anyone help please ?

Macbook, Mac OS X (10.6.2)

Check there's nothing in the camera aperture, such as dust, lint or a hair.

If there isn't then take it straight back to the Apple Store for a replacement.

What if there was something like lint under the camera aperture? How would one go about removing it?

You can't as you cannot take apart the phone (w/o voiding the warranty that is). Just take it in to the Apple store or call AppleCare to set up a waarranty replacement.

FYI - I ended up going to my local Apple Store and they replaced my iphone
