Why are hyphens so high in the word?

I am puzzled by the position of hyphens in my text. I am using Garamond Pro, size 13 and it looks strange. Doesn't seem to really change using a different font like Times. Is there a way to control the positioning of the hyphen? I am thinking not but might as well ask.

Version 1.014;PS 001.000;Core 1.0.38;makeotf.lib1.6.6565
Plats /Library/Fonts/GaramondPremrPro.otf
It seems to be an Adobe font

My instructions might not be the best. You should get the address as I showed you. You can also use Copy image address in the contextual menu (Ctrl + Click).

I called Adobe and talked to sales. They have this font in Optical version, but almost $300 to replace what I have. Maybe this will work for a while.

Yes, it does have the same name. Does that mean it is open type, even though the Finder tells me it is PS?

Richard -- try this.

In Pages, open the Fonts panel and select Garamond. Click on the gear wheel at the bottom left of the Fonts panel and open the Typography tab. Open the Case-Sensitive Layout tab on that (probably at the bottom of the list) and see if the box for Capital Forms is checked. If so, uncheck it.

Yes, the .otf means opentype, not sure what the PS is supposed to indicate. So I am thinking that since you and fruhulda get different results with the same font, the problem could lie with you two having different Typography settings.

It was not checked. Though I notice the font style for the text in my document is Garamond Pro Caption. Maybe that is why, caption may be different though it does not seem to change to select "regular".

Does anything happen if you select a hyphen and check the Capital Forms box and uncheck it again?

I select just the hyphen. Check the Capital forms box. No change in appearance. Close the panel window, reopen with same hyphen once again selected, Capital forms is not checked.
Does this make any sense?

I don't have anything named with Caption.

Caption is a style from the styles drawer, not a font variety.
