Using 1920 x 1080 material in a 1440 x 1080 sequence

Hello all,

I have 2 cameras at the moment that can shoot in HDV, a Sony FX1 (1440 x 1080i) and a Canon HV 40 (1920x1080i). The Canon is actually my sons. We are hoping to do some joint projects this year and I must admit to not having tried it, but will these two resolutions be able to be imported into the same FCE project and if so will it edit ok. if it won't could someone give me an idea of what hoops I might have to jump through to make this work.

One of the projects is a wedding shoot later this year so I want to be well prepared.

Thanks

Dave

well I'm not so sure that you can change that. I had a good look through the manual and now having had a good look through the camera menus, the only HDV shooting options are either "HDV" or "HDV25" the cine mode at 1080i with an aspect ratio of 16:9. It says little if anything at all about the horizontal resolution.

I'll just try and import a bit of footage and see what happens.

Thanks Tom.
