Menus and fonts on the 27" are SO SMALL!!

Barbara, I am sorry if you are offended by my last remark. It is only too common for Mac people to get their noses up in the air, and consider anything other than Mac OS to be unworthy. I personally love Linux, but it is not ready for prime time just yet. Not in my case anyway. Requires too much knowledge of Terminal. From some of your posts, it sounds like you've been a Mac girl for quite some time. Troubleshooting problems is the worst. I hate it regardless of the OS. Am I correct in assuming you have not owned a PC in a long time, if ever? Do me a favor one day, and ask said neighbor to look at your new 27 inch iMac. I will hold thumbs in an effort to have this person tell you the screen is all blurry. If not, you could demo the Mac, in hopes "neighbor" will be interested. The easy to use Mac is perfect for the "elderly," in my opinion. But if they can't see the screen .....

Not to worry, I wasn't offended, but I wanted to make clear that I never offer an opinion on anything unless I can back it up with facts/personal experience. As for my neighbor, actually his eyes work well, but he cannot make it over here; he can barely get around in his own home (shuffling with a walker). I suggested a Mac a couple of times, but he is afraid of change (of any kind), so Windows it is. And yes, I've been a Mac for some time (1994).

Your inventory list shows a 2009 MB. I will be frightfully jealous if he can see that screen. That is the Mac I wanted in November of 2007, but the screen was out of the question. OK, barely on topic, and a huge stretch at that.

If you donated the same amount of your time to teach him the Mac, hmmmmm, fewer headaches. And what would happen if you were not there to help at all?

Too bad you don't live in Keizer, OR. My cousin is 80+, uses a walker as well, and desperately needs help with her Dell laptop and Vista.

One of the reasons to e-mail you privately has to do with your neighbor. I also don't want someone at Apple to break my thumbs.
