iPod will charge in the wall, but not in comp or sync.

Ipod will charge with Plugin charger and the remote works, bit I plug it into the computer not only will it not Sync but it won't charge either despite the plugin charger working, I thought it was the cable but I have tried it with three and it doesn't react to them, how can this be?

Yeah, mine is a similar problem. My 5th gen 80 got replaced back in Oct 09 for the "push the corner down in the right bottom corner to get the ipod sound to come back on". They send me a replacement 80 gig 5th gen and almost 4 months later I am have similar to your problem. When I try and sync with pc, I get nothing, no boxes to inform problem, nothing. after about 10 to 15 seconds it starts to charge. Same with the wall charger. Now I call Apple and they give me the same run around with it's way out of warranty! And then the guys hangs up on me. Atleast I can still listen to the music on it. Can't update or add anymore music. I really am thinking on a Zune!!

Thanks, but I don't see how that will help if it will not even charge when plugged into a computer, it doesn't do ANYTHING no reaction at all from the iPod or the computer, tried it with several cables and on a different computer, it only reacts to the charger plug that goes into the wall.

You did not mention the other computer you tried to connect in your first post. So it might have been a USB port delivering not enough power for your ipod.
You should contact Apple to get it serviced.
