Unable to import the last selected song off a CD

I just got a Windows 7 64 bit computer and have the most current version of iTunes for Windows 7 64 bit. When I select tracks to import from a CD, they all import until the last selected track. It appears as if it will import but then iTunes stops responding at the end of the last track and nothing happens. I use task manager to end and shutdown iTunes. When I open iTunes all songs with the exception of the last track have been imported. I can then select the track that did not import and get it imported as long as I select another track to import following it but then that last track will not import. I'm unable to find anywhere on the Apple website to report a bug. I don't like my workaround for this problem as it requires having to shutdown an unresponsive iTunes every time I try to import songs from a CD. Has anyone else had this problem and do you have any ideas for a solution? I wish I could report this bug but don't know how to do so.

The problem of "iTunes won't rip the last track of a CD" is a strange one that gets reported here with some frequency.

Some folks have found that changing the import setting to WAV allows the last track to rip. If that works, verify that the WAV is complete and then use iTunes to convert it to AAC/MP3 or your preferred format.

You can also consider ripping that final track in another program, such as Windows Media Player or CDex, and adding the resulting MP3 to your iTunes library.

Update 2. The problem just keeps getting worse. On my latest attempt to import songs from a CD into iTunes none of the last 3 tracks imported. The 2nd and 3rd to the last of the songs I tried to import had the little green check mark indicating they were imported but as usual, iTunes hung when importing the last song. After shutting down the unresponsive program and then opening it again, none of the last 3 songs were in iTunes. I tried two more times with the same results. Very frustrating.

Update 3. Decided to uninstall iTunes and all associated programs and do a clean install making sure AV and firewall were disabled. Was hopeful that would resolve the problems but no such luck. Problems importing songs from CD continue. I really wish Apple would acknowledge that they are aware of this problem as others have reported it to. I have no idea if iTunes will ever work correctly on my computer again.

TWO MONTHS since you lasted posted on this, and I am having the same problem. I downloaded iTunes 9 yesterday and it worked fine all day. Shut my laptop down for the night and now have this problem today. Do you notice any problems with your QuickTime also freezing? That was installed when iTunes was, and when I go into it, it just freezes immediately. Not sure if the two are connected. This is so aggravating! I just got a new iPod and would really like to start using it, but it'd be nice to build up my iTunes library. APPLE! WHERE ARE YOU?!

I also just started using Windows 7 Professional, 64 bit on a Dell Studio I7 computer and have the most current version of iTunes for Windows 7 64 bit. (this was never a problem with my XP by the way) All tracks import until the last selected track, no matter which one is the last one selected. The OS stops at that point. I have waited as long as an hour with no results it is still stopped. I know ripping with another program is a work around but if i am going to work in Itunes, then that is what I want to use. How do you report this to Apple as a bug?? I guess they are too busy transporting the insane profits from the Ipad.
