i recently sent my CV to an employer using pages 09. they emailed me back saying they couldnt open the attatchments. is this a common problem with Mac/PC compatibility?
i have used pages 09. then written both a cv and cover letter by just selecting blank in the menu.
I have tried changing the file name to .pdf and then emailing it to my father who is running XP. and he had a message saying windows cant open as they file may have become corrupted.
Is this just because XP is an old system? Would i be having this problem if i was sending to someone using Vista or 7?
You can't just change the file extension. That isn't the way to do it. You have to File > Export > PDF
or File > Print > Print as PDF
Why are you sending the CV to your fathers PC? You said in the first post that you had send it to a person with Pages. Where comes the PC in in this story?
sorry i meant to say i was using pages to send my cv to an employer.
they are using windows and i was sending them my cv using pages. they couldnt see it so i asked my father for hep as he is running XP.
He said he couldnt view them.
After changing to file name in the way you described (export>PDF>) i sent it to him again and he could see it. Although it seemed to be easier to (export>DOC>). and then he clicked view as HTML and he could read them fine.
