how do you rename a home folder?...

...given a MacBook 2006 but would like to rename the home folder. How is it done? Thanks

imac 24" 2.16ghz 3g ram nividia 7600, Mac OS X (10.6.1), would like to eventually get big, mean MAC Pro

You are better off keeping the name and just changing the password. You can run into permission issues otherwise. The other option is to just wipe the drive and reinstall everything from new.

...it's too complicated! I guess I'll stick to your advice. You'd think if you are the administrator then you can easily change the home folder name. Creating a new account required copying the original files contents i.e: applications, documents ,etc. but I couldn't get access to them unless I changed the permissions on each and every folder! Forget it! I guess I'll live with that home folder name. Ciao
