TechTool Protection folder

Question

TechTool Protection folder

howdy,

i have TT 5.0.7 installed. i have excluded the TT protection folder from TM back ups. occasionally i check that folder's size. it has now grown to 9,5 gig.

can i just trash the content of that folder without causing any damage ?

any advice appreciated !

Delete the TechToolProtection.plist file inside that folder, reset the prefPane, restart, and see if that fixes things. Mine's off and that folder only holds 16 KB with all DirectoryBackup files empty. TTP 5.0.7.

Yes.

To prevent TechTool Pro from creating those backups, open the System Preferences and click on the TechTool Protection icon. Click on the Directory Backup tab and then click on the Off radio button.

Thanks for the feedback. Sorry my suggestion was so obtuse, but I misread it, thinking you had turned the protection off and it was still doing it. Good computing.
