WifiTrak disappeared from App. Store??

WifiTrak disappeared from App. Store??

I had to rebuild my Mac mini's HD from scratch, which hosted my iPod touch.

Whilst I had a backup of all my Mac documents, I lost my iPod purchased apps on the mini.

I can re-download some of the purchased apps again (free) from the App. store, but WifiTrak has disappeared?

Any idea why/where it's gone?

MacPro + MXO - and a MacMini and iPod Touch for fun stuff!, Mac OS X (10.6.2)

Hello moobile,

According to several reports, Apple has removed all Wi-Fi finders from their App Store recently for reasons still unknown to the general public. Nobody is really sure when or if these apps will make a return.

Hmm. I wonder if I have a legal case for complaint on this basis: I paid for it only a few months ago, I have not had anything like one year's use (warranty) out of it?

You would not have a legal case since Apple says in the Terms of Service that re-downloading is provided as a convenience only and not as a standard feature of the service. You're expected (and advised) to make backups of your content if you want it protected.

Sorry, but if you don't have a backup, you're out of luck for any app that's not still offered in the iTunes Store.

I thought that the apps did not get backed up? only settings and data.

that's why you need to have other means for backing up your mobile apps folder in place.

time machine is one example ...

hey all

i bought wifitrak in january for my ipod touch 3gs.
i then returned my 3gs and bought an iphone 3gs
i logged in with the same itunes acct when i bought wifitrak for my ipod touch and it shows it in my purchased history but i cant seem to dload it again because itunes no longer has it avail!!!

this is so freaking stupid!!!
where is my app APPLE!!!!
