best laptop bag for macbook pro 15.4 inch

Anybody recommend a good laptop bag for the macbook pro 15.4 inch laptop? I would like something with a bit of padding protection, a few pockets for other items, carry handle as well as a strap that can be carried across the body/shoulders. And lastly; under 60.00 US dollars.

Dell dimension, Windows XP

I'm a huge fan of Crumpler bags, Sossity. They are very tough, colourful, and commodious, and provide very good protection for the computer.

Unfortunately they are usually way over $60 , but I see they have one of the better ones (the "Considerable embarrassment") available at the moment on special for just a couple of dollars more in some colours.

See http://www.crumplerbags.com/Lite/English/Products/Considerable-Embarrassment---C E20A.html

(PS . Apologies for the rather coarse level of taste shown in some parts of their website. Their bags are so good its easy to forgive them once you own one. And they are a company founded by a couple of Aussies who don't know any better after all! 😉 )

Cheers

Rod

I like Brenthaven bags too--especially the ones with the 6 sided core protection like the Metrolite II. You can often find these at a discount on Amazon so you can stay below your $60 limit.

When you find one you like, shop around on the internet for the best price.

You might consider raising your price limit for the right bag. You have a lot invested in your Mac--you want it to be well protected and not subject to being damaged if bumped or dropped in a cheap bag with insufficient protection.

Happy hunting!

I have a Timbik2 Blogger bag and I love it. Occasionally you can find them on Zappos website or REI ($69.00 on sale now). I bought mine for about $50 at TJ Max last year. This bag is vertical and makes it more compact and easier to control in a crowded area.

Someone suggested the Speck shell. I have a clear one on my older MBP and my wife just bought a soft touch Speck case for her new MBP. It is very tactile and I like the added grip this exterior texture provides. Finding one under $60 will take a little more effort but you'll find something nice.

Personally, I like Speck products. I have that cranberry red shell on my MacBook Air too. It really protects it and grabs a lot of attention. User uploaded file
