Loud click/buzz w. transitions w. iMovieHD
See previous posts ref. loud buzz/click when applying transitions ... introduced into the audio track of the clip at beginning and end of transition. Hours of debugging and talking to Apple Support product specialist ... only explanation is "your movie is too long and too complicated for iMovie" -- about 500 clips, and first transition, and any thereafter, produce the buzz/click at both the beginning and end of the transitions ... and go away when you remove the transition. You can get rid of the bizz/click by extracting the audio and turning off track #1 audio -- even setting the clip audio to zero level does not get rid of it. Of course, if you turn off track #1 audio, all clip associated audio is gone!
Well, easiest solution was to break up the project into smaller clips. I used 10 min. "blocks" and everything worked fine -- but a hassle to work on segments, "share" to Quicktime.dv on disk, and then join all when done ... but it worked.
Hopefully Apple will fix this problem w. 5.03 .... it should not be a difficult fix since something is adding an audio spike to the clip audio, on both sides of the transition, and which cannot be turned off by setting the clip audio level to zero ... and which comes and goes as you add and remove the transition.
