OK. I did the 'trick' mentioned in the thread of sending an Email to myself with the PDF file attached -- and that worked a-okay for now but might be nicer to have it in a functional Ebook format.
I know I can load any drm free ebooks(in epub format) into iBooks. Will iBooks support drm free pdfs as well?

This is a very well phrased analysis of the needs of professionals who need math capability. I would like to write math and physics textbooks for reading on the iPad. However, at present, pdf seems to be the only viable method. All attempts to use epub involve coding modifications. And forget other ereaders?
