Easy Way to ID the Configuration of an XServe RAID from Serial No?

I recently acquired a XServe RAID from a colleague, and I wondered if there is an easy way to obtain the hardware configuration of the server via the system serial no? I know Dell has a service tag lookup that will tell you the particular CPU, RAM, HDD, etc configuration of your server based upon the service tag number, wondered if Apple has a similar service?

Hello, wnyvoip and welcome to the AppleBoards,

The Apple support site for Xserves will identify the model of your machine - look on the right hand side for a place to enter the serial number.

That being said if what you have is actually and Xserve RAID: http://www.apple.com/support/xserveraid/ this is mass storage device only and has no CPU, no memory beyond cache etc.

RAID Admin is a Java based software program that will tell you everything about the configuration of your Xserve RAID. Check out the above link for manuals, user guides etc.
