Sync Server Not Working Error

I have not had a problem with my new iPod Touch syncing since I bought it. Yesterday I downloaded the new recommended version of iTunes and now I can't seem to get my iPod to sync to iTunes. It keeps telling my that my SyncServer has stopped working. Don't know what that means or how to fix it.

I have been having this issue with the sync server stopping as well. I am running the current version of iTunes and am trying to sync my iphone 3gs. I had been able to sync up until the last update. I have followed this thread and have done everything that everyone has posted in trying to get my iphone to sync. I have run iTunes diagnostic and this is my log from running it;

I was having the same problem of my 32 gb IPOD Touch (3rd gen) not being able to sync (I was getting the SynServer error along with the error message stating that libxml2.dll is not working properly. I searched for this file and found it in my C drive, windows folder. After reading all the other posts I moved this file to my desktop (which resolved the problem for others but not me). I still got the error message and my IPOD did not sync. I tried something else that I did not read someone else trying. I moved this file into a folder I previously created on my desktop to store other files. In addition, I changed the settings on iTunes to manually manage music and videos. This solved my issue and my IPOD is able to sync with no problems. I hope this helps others. I know how frustaring it can be.

THANK YOU RICH 4236

THIS WORKED

Awesome, This worked for me, Mine was in: C:\Windows

1. Make Sure iTunes is shut down
2. I went to my computer and opened C:\
3. Then I Opened the " WINDOWS " folder
4. I then Located the file " libxml2.dll "
5. I right clicked on it and selected " Cut "
6. Then right clicked on my desktop and selected " Paste "

I then re-opened iTunes without restarting computer and Syncing capabilities returned.

Hope it works for you. God Bless

I have tried moving and copying the files libxml2.dll and sqlite3.dll to the desktop, to C:\Windows and to leave them, just adding c:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support to the Path system variable.
Adding the path made the error message go away, but the calendar and contacts are still not synced. Sometimes it works if I go via Help/Diagnostics/Sync diagnostics, but not all the time...

After reading all the posts with no luck, I did the obvious and went with the newer bigger file. I copied the libxml2.dll from the apple directory and pasted into the windows directory (because Apples was a newer, larger file) and it quit giving me the error messages and seems to sync fine.

Don't know if everyone's would be the same, but in my apple directory the file was 1213KB and in c:windows, the file was only 728KB, hope nothing else is now broken. Good luck to all!

I managed to solve the Sync Server problem (for me at least)

I have been struggling with this problem since the update to the new iTunes.
I noticed that some of the 'fixes' of this problem involved the sqllite3.dll. I searched my machine and I have many sqllite3.dlls on it, all different.
(Mozilla firefox and Thunderbird use this dll for example...)
The solution to the problem was to make sure the Apple version of this DLL was found first. I know that the PATH variable is used in searching for DLLs, so I added the path to the directory containing the Apple version of sqllite3.dll to the PATH system variable.

In my case (Windows 7) the path was:
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support

So in steps:

1. Search your machine for sqllite3.dll (in my case there were 6 different locations)
2. If you find more than one, this solution could work for you. Remember the path to the Apple version of SQLlite3.dll, Probably something like C:\program files\APPLE\...)
3. Right-click on "Computer" in the start menu, or in the windows explorer
4. Choose "properties"
5. Go to "advanced system settings"
6. Find PATh in system variables (bottom part of the window)
7. Choose "edit.."
8. APPEND (do not Replace) the "variable value" with a semi-colon and the path to the Apple version of Sqllite3.dll (in my case `;C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support`)

If this does not work straight away, check if there is a directory in the PATH variable to one of the other sqllite3.dlls. If there is, that one might be found first, and is conflicting with the Apple version.

Hope this helps anyone to solve the problem...
