Sync Server Not Working Error

I have not had a problem with my new iPod Touch syncing since I bought it. Yesterday I downloaded the new recommended version of iTunes and now I can't seem to get my iPod to sync to iTunes. It keeps telling my that my SyncServer has stopped working. Don't know what that means or how to fix it.

thanks, this solved my problem, i'll post this again to help anyone trying to ford this thread, apple really slipped on this problem.

Netcenters Instructions

"""1: Close iTunes
2: Open the registry editor. (regedit.exe)
3: NAV to "HKEY LOCALMACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session
Manager\Environment"
4: Open the "Path" key and add one of the following Strings to the end,
depending on your "Program Files" folder location:

A: ;C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support

B: ;C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support

5: Click "Ok" and exit regedit

6: This step is over kill but I was fed up with this annoyance. I navigated to
the above folder (Step 4) and selected the file "CoreFoundation.dll and the
folder "CoreFoundation.resources" and copied these to the
C:\Windows\System32 folder. This folder will always be scanned if the system
can't find a file.

7: Reboot the system

8: Start iTunes, and the sync process works great.

Since this appears to be a DLL location problem Apple really should have
been on top of this.

Hope this helps! """

exactly the same problem as Santiagol, I´ve updated my itunes to 9.2 and these messages starting to popup while triyng to sync mi Itouch 2nd Generation:

-"Mobile Device Backup has stop working and needs to be close"

-"Sync Server has stop working and needs to be close"

-"Itunes cannot copy Ipod because theres been an error during the making of the security backup"

try almost every method here posted, I´ve move the libxml2.dll to the windows directory, even whent to the registry editor (as Rileyper suggested)

ANY HELP PLEASE, I´m driving mad with this...

thanks

I have problems trying to install iOS4 with my 2nd G iPod touch, it says:
"There was a problem downloading the software for the iPod '(My iPod)'. You do not have access privileges for this operation." I was signed in at the time with my Apple ID and I am an Admin on my Mac. Please help!!!

P.S., I have iTunes ver 9.2 and my Apple ID is a Developer Account

a little progress...the ipod syncs just fine. I´ve deleted all apple programs from my Win XP SP3, and then reinstall them. I´ve edit the path key and paste the correct string at the end (in my case: C:\Archivos de programa\Archivos comunes\Apple\Apple Application Support)

the remaining problem: the same windows keep showing up

-"Mobile Device Backup has stop working and needs to be close"

-"Sync Server has stop working and needs to be close"

-"Itunes cannot copy Ipod because theres been an error during the making of the security backup"

so, im sure that this is a small thing in all the itunes upgrade problems, but its really annoying. the first two, appear at the beggining of the syncing process and once again at the end, adding the third message.

if someone have any idea...

thanks

so I have two ipod touches and every time i try to sync it it shows this error 13019
everything syncs up just fine until the very end it says error 13019 ipod cannot be synced.
I'm not sure if it's my USB connecter or the songs that i have on them.

I've also had a problem with the songs before I got the error.
One day while i was listening to it, the play button at the right hand corner started flashing and wouldn't play, and it was just this one song. I thought it was nothing, then all my other songs and my CD songs won't play. It would just keep skipping until it found a purchased one; only those ones will play. (This one started on my first ipod touch)

Then, i decided i'd use my other one for backup, now it just won't sync. but it still plays the music that won't play on my other one. so now i'm stuck with two ipods that don't sync.

I really don't know what to do. Should I go get it fixed? New USB, buy a new ipod? I'm not really sure. I do need help!

Hi,
I to had the "SyncServer has encountered a problem and needs to close" error as soon as I pluged in my iPhone 4 with iTunes 10.
I also tried the registry change with no luck, so then changed my timezone as suggested and this worked! I then changed the timezone back again to it's correct setting and still no problem.
Thanks for the help.
