MobileSync has stopped working

When I try and sync, I get 2 error messages in separate windows:

"MobileSync has stopped working" and "Yahoo go sync client has stopped working".

I have reinstalled itunes, but still get the error.

I know my calendar no longer syncs, but have not yet discovered if anything else still syncs.

I am running Vista Pro.

I have followed the instructions on the Apple site to remove ALL apple software from the computer, and to reinstall iTunes.

I still have the same problem. My ipod Touch is now a useless piece of equipment, since I can no longer carry my contacts and diary with me, and have had to go back to my iPaq since I am not prepared to wait a couple of months for Apple to fix this bug (and introduce a few more) with an untested version of iTunes.

This is a last resort at getting the problem solved before I abondon any plans of upgrading to an iPhone.

We are in the 4th week ans still have no solution from Apple, not even a comment.

When Microsoft make a mess, they might not admit to it, but due usually fix it in a couple of days, and I thought Apple was supposed to be a better company.

I now know who to trust for my business apllications.

I don't know how Apple have kept this farce out of the press, but I will do all I can to ensure this problem and Apples lack of care is published.

Hi All,

Here my post on other thread :

Thank's rrankins, i almost give up on this after trial on several solutions that doesn't worked and will wait a solution from apple event i'm not sure when they will give the solution for this problem, but after i read your solution and tried it, it's work smoothly. Now i can sync my calendar and contact properly.

In My Opinion your solution by putting the *\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support and \Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support* directories at the beginning of PATH environment variable is the prefer solution that everyone should try it before try other solutions.

And here the link in case you need to get more understanding, see page 28.

I did the same, but still have the same issues. In fact in the last few days, the situation has gotten worse. Previously I got a ton of error messages, but as long as I clicked thru the error messages, I could still sync the iPhone and Ipad. Not when ever I click on the iPhone, iTunes won't show me the iPhone tabs, so i cant sync the iphone at all. The iPad works fine.

Yep same here!! Installed latest two updates, was hoping the very latest which was installed today would have some kind of bug fix!! Naaaa didn't think so!!!
I have even tried to disable settings in windows as advised by windows just to be told unable to disable as must be active for this program!!!! I am now resigned to manually updating both my iPhone and outlook on laptop seperately. Really getting ****** off now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Playing about with libeay32.dll and ssleay.dll did not work for me. I have also deleted all photos in the camera roll which did not work. Deleting existing backups of my iphone did not work. Not sending diagnostic information to apple did not work. Installing mobile me did not help. Completely reinstalling windows did not help. Completely reinstalling all apple software on my computer did not help. Removing all my apps on my iphone did not work. The only thing to note was that removing all pictures and apps did make it slightly less slow, but it did not make much of a difference and still took 22 hours.

So finally I uninstalled itunes 9.1.1 along with all apple software and downgraded to itunes 9.0.3. It instantly fixed my problems and my backup times went from 23 hours to 5 minutes.

Downloading older versions of iTunes at http://www.oldapps.com/itunes.php

To make your library/playlist work with an older version of itunes is really easy. Before uninstalling your current version of itunes, or at least before running itunes once it has reinstalled, simply located the file "iTunes Music Library.xml" which is found in C:\Users\"User Name"\Music\iTunes and drag this file to the Desktop.

Now delete the file "iTunes Library.itdb" which will also be in your C:\Users\"User Name"\Music\iTunes folder.

Now open iTunes and go File -> Library -> Import Playlist and then locate the file you just dragged to the desktop.

iTunes will then rebuild your library and away you can go.
