AppleSyncNotifier.exe unable to locate CoreFoundation.dll

After rebooting following my iTunes upgrade I got the message that AppleSyncNotifier.exe unable to locate Component and the detailed version said it can't start because CoreFoundation.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem.

Every time I reboot it says this. What program does it want me to reinstall? Has anyone else had this? Can I just get the dll someplace and put it in some folder? Arrrhgggh!

Any help would be appreciate. Thank you.

After some searching, I have figured out how to uninstall MobileMe, when it is not listed on the Control Panel. On Windows 7 (and perhaps Vista and XP), there is a hidden directory C:\ProgramData. Go to C:\ProgramData\Apple\Installer Cache. There will be a directory for MobileMe for whichever version is installed as MobileMe.x.x.x. Under that directory, there is an uninstaller. Run that and MobileMe is gone!

This has a very simple solution. Unfortunately, it seems everytime they have an update it doesn't copy 2 files correctly into MobleMe. The following like explains the very easy steps to solving this problem.

Hint: I would bookmark this page for the next update iTunes has or you can just Google it.

This has solved the problem for me, hope it works for you.

This solved my problem. In Windows XP I removed MobileMe with using Control Panel -> Add Remove Software. I followed the Apple instructions in Apple Tech Note shown at the end of this email.

However, the Apple Tech Note does not specifically say to remove MobileMe. That is the missing step. MobileMe causes the "AppleSyncNotifier.exe" error message.

After I did all of Apple's instructions, then....

I went to C: [backslash] Program Files and made sure that Mobile Me was removed.

When I restarted WIndows XP, the "CoreFoundation.dll was not found" error was gone.

Since I use Windows XP in Parallels Mac for only a few special tasks, I removed all of iTunes and the related parts -- MobileMe, Bonjour, and others.

See this Apple Tech Note for how to remove iTunes from Windows XP:
