Is anyone bothered that this device has *no support* for network printing? It doesn't make a lot of sense to have to email a document to yourself in order to print it. As an educator and businessman (two groups Apple was supposedly courting with the iPad) I'm not getting this.
As a newbie, I learned a lot from this thread.
1. Apple didn't intend users to print from the iPad. That's what syncing and downloading to a computer is for. Good point.
2. Green people are not finding reasons to print so much anymore. I would love to learn how to print less. I can figure it out on my own but since somebody has already gone down the road, I would love to learn from them.
3. The iPad is mainly for entertainment. Don't try and make it work as a primary computer.
I love my iPad and I knew what I was getting before I purchased it but these forums teach me a lot.
It is certainly a bit annoying that the iPad (and iPhone) have no native printing support, but given the highly portable nature of the device, the difficulty of natively providing the required support, and the existence of so many third-party solutions in addition to the ability to sync or transfer document s via email it is more an inconvenience than anything more. And given the fact that the iPad is selling well into education and business, it seems not to be an obstacle to possibly many and varied uses of the device in these markets - though admittedly, possibly a hindrance to some.
On the other hand, every product ever made has limitations. At least in this regard, the iPad's can be quite easily overcome.
