I think it just depends on the owner's preferences. I actually do use a screen protector, both on my iPad 2 and on my 4th Generation iPod Touch. Even though I have the Smart Cover for my iPad, I have a screen protector on my iPad partly because I'm in college, and a lot of the time my iPad is in my backpack with all my textbooks and notebooks, and partly because I drop my iPad (which I actually have done before), and in case one of my dogs decides to step on my iPad. The same with my iPod Touch, with the exception of I will sometimes stck my cell phone or something else, such as my keys, in the same pock that my iPod is in. Yes, there are bubbles in places on both my iPad and my iPod, but they don't interfere with what I'm doing at the time. Like I said, it depends on the preference of the owner.
Just a note, look at the date with the post you are responding to. It was posted over 3 years ago and the last post before yours is over 3 years old. Not likely there will be a lot of interest at this time and the Original Poster (OP) has not posted since then.
