Well,

Nobody has solved the issue of edited pictures. They resist all tricks mentioned here.

Except you delete edited photos the same way you delete unedited photos.

Big FAIL, Eemolli!

Sorry Chris,

I cannot prove you the case, but that is just like I said. I could delete nicely everything else but the edited files. Using all the tricks described here. It has happened already twice.

An annoying glitch, but not a real problem to me as I don't store my photos or images on iPad. I'm sorry if you FAIL to understand written text. I really have tried everything. I'm really no beginner with computers and gadgets.

I might add that I would be very intersted to know why not ALL edited photos behave the same way. I FAIL to recall what modifications I did to the photos...

Happy weekend anyway and thanks for commenting.

This is a serious problem that's disapointinly NOT solved by OS7. Through utter frustration I took my iPad into my Apple store and ask the geniouses there, and one of the guy said he gets at least 15 people a day coming in asking the very same question, and all he could do was tell me to suggest changes via the usual comments buttons whereever. This is so UN APPLE. This is rediculous and makes me hate this. It also makes me start to be mroe than aggitated with the company I always thought really had it together. We also can't understand the complex new methods just to create a bookmark and then to get to it. Who is running the new place now? A bunch of kids. Get it together APPLE.

DEAR APPLE.

It us utterly rediculous that deleting previously synched photos from another computer on my iPad requires that I have to connect it to that same computer. Every unit should stand on its OWN and not be dependent on another. I inadvertedly important hundreds of photos but want to keep half and get rid of the others. You are failing us in this regard. It is so counter intuitive and plain wrong. I don't care what rationalization you come up with, I should be able to highlight ANY file on my iPad and delete it. You are causing me to waste many hours on this one issue. Deal with it and get back to me.

here's what worked for me:

in settings:

turn off synch for photos in icloud

turn off everything for photos in photos and camera

connect ipad to computer and go to itunes

select your device

then select photos from top bar at far right

uncheck synch photos at top and then apply at bottom

all photos were deleted from the ipad!

suggest you save photos to another directory before deleting.

I agree the trashcan should be active on the ipad regardless of synching/icloud whatever.

good luck!

Isn't anyone at Apple embarassed that something as simple as deleting photos requires an online discussion forum of this length? I have just wasted an hour trying to sort this issue out without success. Am now giving up. Will not be purchasing an Apple device again in the future until the company sorts out the madness of their file management system. No one wants to "sync" their devices or do everything through the nightmare of an interface that is iTunes; they just want te be able to access, delete and edit their files through a folder in a simple and intuitive manner as Windows allows them to.

Apple should not be embarrased.

People who fail to read this thread and instructions for deleting photos should be embarrased for posting comments such as, " I have just wasted an hour trying to sort this issue out without success".
