Automatic standby

Hello,

in which way apple tv switches to standby mode without using remote control or tv menu? Does it automatically switch to standby? I do not have found any information of that point.

Standby is via the remote only.

Video sometimes takes some time to show if you've changed TV channel even without being in standby over HDMI.

Standby is also not very energy efficient as many things still go on and video output is displayed, just as black.
