Stocks? Weather? Clock? Calculator?

Strange ... Nobody missing these 4 apps that were on any iPhone and iPod touch???

So if I buy an iPad I won't have a timer? A stopwatch? An alarm clock? Check the Apple stock value? Calculate even the most simple calculations? Check the weather?

Is Apple really letting 3rd party developers provide these apps? :-(((

I want those apps from Apple!!!

Try Bloomburg. Free and a lot more info than "Stocks". There are also free alarm apps. "Best Alarms" comes to mind. Wakes you up with the current weather although there is an advertising bar on the bottom. I'm guessing there is also a free calculator if that is your "deal breaker".

All this aside, the IP apps were fine also and why they were left off the iPad is beyond me. However, I have bigger fish to fry than getting worked up about the so-called "missing apps".

Stedfast defender eh, Stedman1?

I borrowed the iPad to check itout and see how I liked it before purchase. I couldn’t quite accept the appsmentioned in this thread were missing, found this post and wanted to add myvote and position to this thread debating/requesting the features back.

Well setting aside yourinsinuations as to my ability to find alternatives (stellar response I have tosay) let me touch on your points, Stedman1.

I found a free calc, great, but ad supported, yuk, guess I will hunt another one down. Sure there will be something.

I found a free weather app too. Ok, but this is also ad supported (yes I really do dislike adverts), so will have to try again I guess.

Since found free voice recordapp, I do like that one and it isn't ad supported. So that is fine.

I cannot find a single alarm/timer app I don't have to leave running. I think previous posters are correct in that MUST come from Apple. I simply cannot compromise on a 3rd partyapp for that aspect, can I?

Before we criticize my intolerance for adverts whilst still wanting free apps please understand that this was just a communication of genuine customer disappointment. If I had purchased I'd be paying more, getting the latest and greatest yet having to search around and compromise on features I had liked, become accustomed too and had prior.

So I came, I saw, I left disappointed. Just trying to help by letting someone know why (I assume apple read these forums?). I haven't given up on Apple iPads, but do want those features back. Personally I suspect they wanted to beef up the graphics of the applications for the iPad or add additional features. I suspect also they ran into problems and didn't complete in time. I truly hope they'll arrive as an iOS update. Until then I'll wait and look around.

Never a good idea to remove what you have given until you are sure it is not wanted, much less needed. Simple little things that I suspect are trivial to put back in make a difference to some. Some will take it back after purchase, some won't buy at all, some will look for alternatives some will live with it and I am sure some won’t notice.

So far this doesn't seem like a supportive place for offering feedback. Perhaps it is the wrong place. I will post once to www.apple.com/feedback and retain my opinion as to the usefulness of these forums to myself.

I'd hoped for ideas as to why they were missing, links to a petition/poll to apple, suggestions to alternative apps that were free and free of ads, encouragements they were coming (commitment from apple that they were). All this not received nor seemingly on the horizon and I guess nor likely given the responses thus far.

As it is I can say I love the screen size but at the price. I’ll stick with my iPod Touch until the iPad can do all it can (timer being the main hurdle). At least now I can more fullyadvise my customers when asked about the iPad.

Guess I’ll also stop watching this thread. It takes two to argue, this doesn’t seem like a discussion. I don’t see the need to justify or defend my desire to wait until the iPad can match my iPod Touch native functionality. I still feel it should have already and I'm entitled to feel that way.

Simply put, Apple. I liked those missing apps. So; no thank you on the iPad, will perhaps see about it later.

Goodbye Stedman1.

Thanks Macaby

Honestly, I wasn't "worked up" until the forum response. It was just a decision to wait for them and I figured I'd record the "vote" and hope Apple read it..

Anyway thank you for a much more helpful response.

The adverts and timer multitasking is the "deal breaker" for me but I'll keep seeing what is there time from time.

Walking away from this thread now.

Hello,

I miss this Apps: Wheater, Clock, Compass, Voice memo, Calculator and Stocks. Apple must to put this Apps in iOS for iPad, that very useful for me everyday (except Compass). And i don't want to pay for a similar Apps in Apps Store when this Apps are in iOS for iPhone a iPod Touch.

We hope that this Apps bring in a new version of iOS.

Thanks a lot for tour comments.

Was it really necessary to resurrect an old whine fest thread that dies months ago?

Otherwise check the app store. A lot of free and inexpensive apps that do what you want.

I've yet to hear a good reason from Apple why all these apps were omitted.

Sorry, but you never will.
