Converting Flip videos to play on iPad?

Hi
I have a MacBook and iPad. I normally use VLC to convert videos. I cannot find any settings to make the videos sync to the iPad, I only get warnings that the file is unplayable.

Any tips/tricks?

Referring to my previous post: once you have imported your Flip movie into iMovie and dragged it into iTunes on your Mac, it will anyway appear on your iPad when you synchronize your iPad with your Mac. No need to use Flip share once it is stored in iTunes. Gofallo.

Thanks for this info! I purchased the camera kit for the ipad and it will not allow me to upload the flip videos' directly to the ipad- says it is not supported. Is this possible? a friend of mine is currently able to do so with the same model ipad as me.

I have no idea if this works with other Flip camera models. I have the Filp Mino HD camera and with the new IOS 4.2.1 upgrade, I can now import these videos from the Flip Camera using the Camera Connection Kit. The previous iOS 3x did not allow this with the Flip Mino HD camera.

As "Graham Outterside" said the Flip Video is a camcorder for digital video created by Pure Digital Technologies. It record videos in 640x480 resolution at 30 frames per second, using the MPEG-4 ASP video compression. The high definition versions record at 1280 x 720 resolution using H.264 video compression, AAC audio compression and the MP4 file format.
These MPEG-4 ASP (*.MP4) videos are not supported by your iPad, for iPad only supports H.264 MP4 with up to 720p resolution.

I was sent a flipshare video link, but it does not work in Safari. It keeps asking me to install FlashPlayer 10,1 or later, but I'm already at 10.2 something. Or, it keeps showing me the spinning white lines and nothing happens. Or, it asks me to log in. The behavior oddly varies each time I try it!

Any clues about how a Mac user can play a Flipshare video link (it goes to their Viewport or some such)?

Are you saying it is asking you to install the flash player from Safari on the iPad? If so, Flash isn't supported on the iPad.
