Safari keeps logging me out...

I have had this problem ever since the update. I log into my websites and within 10 mins I am logged out and have to keep logging back in.

Anyone else have this problem?

I am using Leopard 10.6.3... Safari 4.0.5... Macbook Pro.

Help!?!?!

Mac OS X (10.6.3)

No, still problem with Safari & cookies in 10.6.4.

Snørrbjörg: Interesting, I would have expected that the problem is gone with 10.6.4. It's possible that you're experiencing another issue altogether here.

Could you please post the results of the terminal command:

'sw_vers'

Most helpful would be a concise description of the issue you see and the steps you use to reproduce the issue you're seeing.

If anyone still experiencing this issue could do this, it would be of great help.

thanks!

Safari doesn't seem to remember any cookie or - if it does - only recognizes it for a very short time (sometimes even forgets in the same session). This results in constantly logged out sessions for almost all websites with cookie login.

This started since Mac OS X 10.6.3 Roll Up update (with Safari 4.0.4). Problem still persists with Safari 5.0 and Mac OS X 10.6.4.

Apparently this is a known bug for Apple filed under Bug ID# 7829626.

{quote}This is a follow up to Bug ID# 7945XXX. After further investigation it has been
determined that this is a known issue, which is currently being investigated by

Why would you think the problem is gone in 10.6.4?
It wasn't fixed with Safari 5, which was included in 10.6.4, so there's no change.

There are no precise steps. You use a site (such as Facebook) regularly. You are in the middle of reading pages, you click a link (staying within Facebook) and you are presented with the login screen, b/c Safari did something that caused Facebook to think you haven't logged in yet.

We are NOT talking about walking away and coming back hours later. It happens sometimes within a minute or 2 of logging in and actively using the site. Never happens with Firefox.

Safari's cookies are actually handled by an OS component called CFNetwork, so some behavior that appears to be Safari's may actually be addressed by an OS update.

This is the right OS.

These are actually great repro steps. Although the problem isn't 100% reproducible, you've provided the list with a simple / concise description of your symptoms.

More great info, thanks!

Has anyone tried doing a clean reinstall of Snow Leopard? As in: start fresh as if it were a new computer, then restore from a backup? I'm tempted to try it before I just revert back to 10.6.2, but I don't want to do it if it won't solve the issue. It doesn't seem to effect everyone, so I'm wondering if we're all users who upgraded from Leopard.

Are any of you having the problem users who purchased your Macs with Snow Leopard preinstalled?

Suffering from the random logout issue since April 2010. Multiple unrelated web sites affected. It looks like these guys found the source of the problem 2 months ago

The short description:

+What we found is that on the latest version of Safari the cookies were not looking the same as they do in every other browser. After lots of tests, we determined that Safari is breaking while parsing the comma which we think is messing up the cookie collection.+
