Which video converter is best for quality on apple tv?

As they said, handbrake is difficult to use for a fool like me, I am always confused when using it. I prefer a simple tool, such as Pavtube. The trial version works great.

For video files it really couldn't be simpler than opening the app, selecting the source, selecting AppleTV preset then Start (if presets don't show the right click Toggle Presets).

At the end of the day use what works best for you though.

I'm having a problem trying to convert avi files for appleTV since Handbrake has stopped supporting avi. I tried MPEG Streamclip, but neither the "export to mpeg-4" nor the "export to other-- appletv" give me a file which the apple tv will actually play (I get a not compatible error on the mp4 file it creates). Plus, I've been trying to use it on my G4 laptop, which is where I keep my primary itunes library, and it takes many hours (8 or so) to convert a 45 minute video file (only to find out it doesn't play). I broke down and bought a converter (moyea) only to have the same trouble-- it takes even longer, converts to mp4 files that stutter in itunes and don;t play at all on the apple tv.

What options actually work for avi (DivX), free if possible, fast would be even better? Help?
