I have no outbox in mail. Where is it?

The mail app is telling me it can't send an email and it's stuck in the outbox. I can send it in the progress bar trying to send to no avail. So I want to delete it but there's no outbox. Where is it or how do I create one.

Take iPad offline, create and send another email and when it fails, it will magically appear and you can delete them both.

The outbox is not normally accessible... strange as it sounds.
