Skype black video after 10.6.3

after updating to 10.6.3 my webcam no longer works with skype..... still works with photobooth, works in ichat, skype just shows a black screen, the LED light for the camera does come on, skype shows the right camera in the list, but the preview box just stays black....... all was working fine with 10.6.2 before updating

it's a usb camera built into my monitor

Hi,

If you have Upgraded to Snow Leopard then you need the Snow Leopard Install Disks (not the Original ones that came with the computer).

iChat 4 in Leopard does not work with Snow Leopard - you get a new version when you install Snow Leopard.

In the case of Skype you would have to get the Latest version (that is compatible with Snow Leopard) to update Skype.

Changing the Digitiser doesn't work for me. I get video in the pref pane, but a live connection causes a Skype 'recording error'. This is a gigantic pain in the ***. Is anyone working on actually fixing this? I presume it is Skype's responsibility ... but it has been a month now and no real solution.

I am in the first days of setting up a new business, and would like to use VC as a tool ... can't do it on a Mac. Come ON people!

This page https://support.skype.com/faq/FA830/I-set-up-video-but-it-doesn-t-work-on-my-Mac ?frompage=search&q=Mac+video seems to suggest that Skype needs Video Drivers for external Cameras.

It would seem that page is somewhat out of date as the OS has included USB UVC compliant drivers since 10.4.9

It also mentions Skype 2.0 for Panther.

Seems you maybe waiting for some time.

Even the Download page points to the Macam drivers for External cameras.

This search does not produce much
https://support.skype.com/en-gb/search/?q=NoVIdeo+inMac

(yes it is Skype's issue)
