I'm having the same problem with my visa debit card! Also have an itunes card that was working fine but now doesn't even seem acknowledged, just goes straight to the credit card info, then declines the correct info!! Very frustrating!! Just got my ipod touch a few weeks ago and already have problems downloading!! Has anyone figured this out???

The problem has to be with our iTunes account!
For me it is only happens when I try to buy 'gifts'! Even PayPal gets the 'Credit Card Declined' error! Purchases for myself have no problem at all!
I don't think Apple/iTunes knows how to fix it yet, but I know they are aware of the problem seeing as so many people have logged support tickets!

However...Just so everyone is knows, not everyone is afflicted with this problem! I'm rec'ing gifts from other people and we've collaborated together to try to pinpoint the problem, we can't find any actual account differences, but the simiarily between them is that they had never purchased 'gifts' prior to the 9.2.1.5 update

gawddaymit...I'm a U.S soldier serving overseas right now and music is one of the things that helps me to cope over here. I need new music and this is p'ing me off!

I am getting the same issue here. Been about 2 weeks now that my iTunes rejects my details, but oddly enough I can still make purchases and get updates via my iPad (same billing info and account).

Something is really buggered on Apple's end and I have reached out to their online customer support (phone help was useless).

I'm having the same issues with the billing portion. It started a few days ago, when I had to update an expired credit card. Ever since then every single time I go to purchase an app it goes to "verify billing info". I've used multiple payment options and no matter what EVERY TIME I'm looped back to billing with the same "declined" error message. WTHeck?

I've checked with all card companies and I know there's not a hold on my accounts for Apple/Itunes, I KNOW I'm within my limits, and I KNOW I have sufficient funds.

I've reinstalled the itunes app using "repair". I've even used a gift card and the same thing happens. Each time I get the error message: "Your Card Was Declined, Please Enter Valid Credit Card Information".

I then tried my pay pal account I managed to download 1 $.99 song and then when I tried to download something else, itunes kicked out the same Enter A Valid Credit Card error message! Are you kidding me? My paypal is linked to a bank account, so now I know that the problem isn't me.

I know my billing address information is correct. Even going so far as to pull up bank statements and type my information exactly as its listed with the bank. NO CHANGE.

Now... here's the kicker... I can go to apple.com, log in, and use all of my credit cards just fine...but I don't want to buy more equipment, I just want to download apps for my iphone4. no word yet from support but I've got a few choice words for them!

I've been having the same problem. You'd think that Apple would want to do some damage control by disclosing to everyone what the issue is--or at least giving everyone a warning that their system is down instead of telling everyone that their credit card has been declined. They must have had a major security breach of everyone's credit card data and now they're freezing that capability until they can secure their credit card processes and notify everyone that they've had a breach.

Yes same problem...it started when I downloaded the latest version of iTunes. I end up in a constant loop telling me my billing information is incorrect. My credit card works fine, used it 10 minutes ago. It is the same card I have used on iTunes for over 2 years and then bam it no longer works. Got an email that said it was my problem. Of course you can't talk to a live person when you call support. Thinking I should have got a Droid? Now I am waiting on another email....I updated all my information even billing an still your credit card information is incorrect.......loosing my patience quickly. Anybody find a solution?

I had this happen last night when I tried to buy an app for my new iphone. I contacted my bank this morning to see what the problem might be.

They said the credit card processor has a block on merchants in California because of a large number of fraudulent transactions.

I guess since iTunes / Apple is in California, that the block is causing the problem. The bank didn't have any suggestions for resolving the issue and said they were not able to remove the block -- that it was done by the card processor.

I've had this problem since yesterday evening. I replaced my iPhone 3GS at a local Apple store and I was able to restore my backup of the old iPhone on it and was even able to purchase a couple of apps and download updates for several other apps I had purchased earlier. Everything was working fine until yesterday evening when I clicked "Update All" in Apps on my phone, I got a prompt to verify my account. This action took me to verifying my billing (credit card) info that had never changed. The page had my credit card info and the top read "Your account has been accessed from a new computer or device, and you must verify your payment information before you can make purchases. For more information bla bla bla...". I reentered the security code and selected a missing salutation but several hits to "Done" button returned the following message "Your credit card information does not match your bank's records. Please enter a U.S. credit card and matching billing address". WTH. I called iTunes customer support and they gave me a case number and asked me to send an email to support. They couldn't/didn't find anything wrong with my account. This is ridiculous.

I have the exact same problem. Welcome aboard! I called iTunes support this morning and they gave me a case number and asked me to email support with the case number and the details that I had been using the same billing info (credit card) for years and there is nothing wrong. I think its some twisted security check. I'm suspecting this all happened for me when I replaced my iPhone 3GS, but it was working fine and I was able to download app updates and make purchases. I don't see anything being flagged by my bank. I do see several transactions from iTunes for $0.0 in my bank account, which is a little flustering and irritating. I'm hoping support will reply to my email and get this resolved. I suggest you do the same.
