Stuck in iPad pages document

Pages document is open on iPad. There are no controls. Can only open this single document in Pages. Document came as attachment to mail message. Opened it in Pages from Mail.
How do I get back to the documents screen in Pages?

MacBookPro, Mac OS X (10.6.3), iPad and iPhone 3Gs

I have the exact same problem with Pages. Email is stuck in the attachment view. No access to menus, etc. The only way to get out of it is to power cycle.

As I said in my previous post, the solution is simply to rotate your iPad 90 degrees (to portrait mode) and the controls appear.
Not sure why Apple only shows the controls in portrait mode and not in landscape.
Grrrr...
I've filed this as a bug. Apple replied that this is a known bug. Expect it to be fixed (we can hope) in 4.0 or sooner.

Try a force quit of mail to get rid of the attachment view... this can be accomplished by holding down the power button until the red slider appears at the top of the screen, then releasing it and pressing and holding the home button until you are back at the home screen. once back at the home screen, you can release the home button...

Looks like the ruler is now available in Landscape mode with the latest update.

From Pages What's New in Version 1.1 (will take you into iTunes)

Toolbar and ruler are now available in wide-screen landscape view

Installed the newest version of Pages that has the tool bar when in landscape mode. The menu is not available after opening an attachment. Closing the app, opening a different, nor deleting the document in Pages will correct this behavior. The only way to clear the opened attachment is to power cycle the iPad.

Right, theree are two issues here. One was the landscape mode menu thing and the other is a glitch whereby the only solution that I have yet seen is power cycling the iPad.
