Terminal Not Working

Hi! Whenever I launch terminal,I can't type anything and it only shows this message:

*login: illegal option -- u*
*usage: login [-pq] [-h hostname] [username]*
*login -f [-lpq] [-h hostname] [username [prog [arg ...]]]*

*[Proceso completado]*

Already tried both dumping the Terminal preferences and reintalling the package with Pacifist and the Snow Leopard install DVD.Nothing have worked so far.
Any help please?

Is the problem account also setup to run tcsh?

If that is the case, then you want to be looking at .login, .tcshrc, .cshrc, /etc/csh.login, and /etc/csh.cshrc

However, if the user name for the problem account is really -u! then that is most likely the root cause.

It's fixed! Since the username was clearly pointed as the cause,I enabled the root account and changed the names of the account and its folder.One reboot later and Terminal started working.
