1080p 50 Hz display settings not appearing

I have 1080i and 720p 50 Hz but not 1080p why???

MacBook, Mac OS X (10.6.3)

I know for sure that is the resolution that my upscaled DVD feeds into it 1080p @50Hz and of course is on the technical details as well so Apple get a grip please

Yes but playing 1080p at 50 Hz and advertising that it plays it over HDMI are not the same thing. It may well be a limitation of the tv but the fact that your tv plays it from your DVD player on it's own doesn't prove it.

The Tv does 1080p@50 Hz over HDMI, the only device that does not see this option is the AppleTv. This is a Panasonic G series not your average Tv
Probably the programmers have just put a 60Hz option for the US and forgot about the rest of the world
Does anybody have a 1080p@50Hz option on any Tv set that would confirm the issue is with programming
