Won't sync videos in iPhoto

Hi, I have my iPad set up to sync with iPhoto. There is an option to check in the Photos tab that says "include videos." However, no videos I have in iPhoto are syncing over to my iPad. I would like to watch the videos from my camera which is stored in iPhoto along with my photos on my iPad.

Does anyone know how this works? Thanks in advance. I tried browsing for this topic but didn't find any relevant posts.

Are the videos you have in iPhoto compatible with the iPad?

Here are the standard video requirement for the iPad:

H.264 video up to 720p, 30 frames per second, Main Profile level 3.1 with AAC-LC audio up to 160 Kbps, 48kHz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats;

MPEG-4 video, up to 2.5 Mbps, 640 by 480 pixels, 30 frames per second, Simple Profile with AAC-LC audio up to 160 Kbps, 48kHz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats;

Motion JPEG (M-JPEG) up to 35 Mbps, 1280 by 720 pixels, 30 frames per second, audio in ulaw, PCM stereo audio in .avi file format

If you movies are not within the above limits then they will not sync via iTunes.

You don't sync content to your iPad using iPhoto, you do it using iTunes.
Have you checked the settings within the Photos sync panel in iTunes with the iPad connected?

.AVI's will play on an iPad.

The funny thing is that this isn't a file compatability issue, it's APPLE chosing to block it. I just got back from a trip to China, I shot stills and video on a Nikon SLR (D300). Each day I would use my apple SD card attachment for my iPad and upload my days photos and videos. I watched an AVI video of my wife snuggling a giant panda in Chengdu on my iPad. We shot over a 1000 photos and videos while on our trip. when I got home I synced back with my laptop to get it all organized by city and events. Only now when I sync the organized albums and events, do the videos fail to transfer back to the ipad. iTunes, then shows my ipad memory status as if the files were transfered (3.3 GB remaining), but the ipad memory shows 6.8 GB of available memory, along with and error message that says 70 files were unable to transfered, and to see itunes for details. Of course, it doesn't say what files, or even what type of files and iTunes is completely oblivious of the iPad message. This is F'ing APPLE retardation at it's finest.

The iPad - iTunes - iPhoto - Videos - iCloud is a complete disaster.

Same problem!

Can import videos/movies via camera connection kit's SD card reader, and view, but when the very same video's/movies are imported from iphoto (and I select to include videos in iTunes) it comes up with an error stating that the movie "...was not copied because the video format is not supported by the iPad...".

They imported and played just fine without iPhoto and iTunes being involved!

Same problem. But this time its totally unbelievable. I dont use any other camera. I just capture video with my iPhone 4S, then I sync videos (with photos of course) to iPhoto. Than I sync it back via iTunes (Sync with iPhoto option, Include videos checked) and I got error saying:

Some of videos in your iTunes library, including the video "LASTVIDEOFILENAME.MOV", were not copied to the iPhone "Myiphone name" because they cannot be played on this iPhone.

Are you kidding me Apple??? iPhone cannot play videos that was taken with tha exactly same device?!?! Anybody can help?

Same problem here.

I cannot even sync videos, created with the iPhone only, back to the iPhone via iPhoto-events and iTunes!

So no fancy camera is involved, just pure Apple stuff. Even though, the videos are silently dropped.

"Include videos" is checked in the "Photos" tab of iTunes, of course. 6GB of free space on the iPhone.

Deleting the iPod Cache folder and re-synching did not help.

What a mess!!! I will quickly leave the Apple plattform if things stop to "just work" for that premium price.

I have found some sort of a workaround to this problem:

I have shot my videos with my DSLR in .MOV format. I saved them to my iMac, do whatever postprocessing I fancy, then upload those to dropbox. Then I use the dropbox app on my iphone and save these videos back to my iphone photo library, then I use iPhoto to import the videos back into iPhoto, correct the date and time via "Photos > Adjust Date and Time", then merge the videos with whatever event that contains the matching photos and then sync my iPhone via iTunes with "include Videos" option ticked.
