Ability to fill in PDF's on ipad

A little more searching and I've found that Adobe now allows for fillable forms in their PDF reader for iPad. I think the main question I have now would be how to submit the data from the form to a server. I see that you can email the pdf, but I'd rather just have a submit option if possible- any suggestions?

With Adobe Reader on iPad you can only submit the form via E-Mail. WIth PDF Expert you can use both E-Mail or HTTP submission. In order to make the form work with submission itself you can either use Acrobat Professional on your desktop or use some solution that will do that for you automatically like PDF Share Forms OnDemand: http://www.pdfshareforms.com/pdf-share-forms-ondemand/

Does Apple still prevent Javascript from executing within a PDF - such as a submit button?

Adobe's reader will handle the fillable form, but does not act on a HTTP or E-Mail submission.

PDF Reader Pro will submit by E-Mail

PDF Expert will submit data by E-Mail or HTTP.

PDF Max is for free. you can fill our forms but you cant send them by email.

PDF Max pro is 6,99 EUR, you can fill out, send by email, upload to dropbox.

I know you can't change the name of a fillable pdf using Acrobat, but it does a good job of the actual filling. Do you know therefore if it's possible to save the filled form by 'printing' it as a flat pdf (with a different name) using pdfExpert or similar app?

You can use Adobe Pro XI to converted your current form to be editable. Then create all the fields in Adobe Pro, save the file, email that file to your self on Ipad, then open it in Adobe reader which gives you the option to save it.

I have created a Apparatus check sheet for our fire department and it works great.

Try PDF Master in app store, that is what I use. I creat my documents in Adobe Acrobat and email them to myself, then open in PDF Master and it is a fillable PDF. The free version will only let you keep two docs in the app file, but once I finish with it I email the final version to where it needs to go, copy myself and send it to the trash.
