Susan Kare designed all the early Mac icons and fonts, and named the latter after world cities. The one I miss is Cairo, a series of early dingbats which included the famous 'dogcow'. You can find it online as an image (see below) but not as a font:

Susan Kare drew the bitmap version, and it was later updated and released in TrueType format by Bigelow & Holmes.
I'm really interested in purchasing the font for commercial use but it doesn't seem to be for sale anywhere.

Are you talking about New York or Cairo? I have New York working in Mac OS 8.6 but not in OS X. As for Cairo, although I have an archive version of it, it seems to be corrupt and I've never managed to see it in SheepShaver. The above is only an image. Maybe you could reproduce it in a font-maker?
