Your solution was exactly what worked. A big Thank You !!!
Go to Finder and in the search area (or Spotlight) write "kindleformac" or whatever name you gave to the application and it will appear.
WHICH FILE IS THE BOOK YOU SEEK?
On the subject of finding where downloaded Kindle books are stored, we have a good answer: look under Kindle on my Mac Preferences, General, to see the path to the folder, & you can even change the location if you wish.
But now, Amazon has made it so that the title of the book does not appear in the file title, instead it is something like B0079X5E2U_EBOK.azw
So, it turns out that B0079X5E2U (for example) is the Amazon Standard Item Number or ASIN. And you can google that number, to find out what the book is. When this becomes widely known I suppose they will encrypt the number as it appears in the title.
I had the same issue, didn't dint the Kindle Content map.
This is what i did:
Go to the terminal, type:
chflags nohidden ~/Library/
Then your library for your user will show. This is where the "my kindle content" is, under Applicaiton support and Kindle folders!
