iPhone lock / power button not working

Hi,

I have been having a lot of problems with my iPhone recently.
the latest issue is that I cannot lock or turn off the phone.

When I press the top button nothing happens.
I have done a restore, but still the same issue.

Any ideas what is causing this or how I can get it fixed?

Hi there,

Have you tried a Hard Reset of your phone? To do this, press & hold the "Home" button as well as the "Standby" button at the same time for a few seconds until the phone switches itself off. Once it is off, after a few seconds, switch it back on as normal.

That's not a reset. That is just turning the phone off. In a reset, the phone automatically restarts at the end of the reset.

A reset is hold the home and sleep/wake button until the Apple logo appears while ignoring the red slide to turn off.

hi,
i can't do this because the top button is not working form me , i have tried.
any other ideas?

If you have an Apple Store in your area, I'd make an appointment at the Genius Bar and have them take a look.
